Terry Crews named new host of “Millionaire” game show

NEW YORK (AP) – Terry Crews is going in for Cedric The Entertainer as new host of “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire.” Crews, an actor, former NFL player and Old Spice pitchman, will join the weekday game show starting this fall, according to its studio, Disney-ABC Domestic Television. He replaces comedian Cedric The Entertainer, who’s hosting the show in its 12th season in national syndication. Crews has been a regular this season on the freshman Fox sitcom “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.” His films include Tyler Perry’s “The Single Moms Club” and Ivan Reitman’s “Draft Day.” His first book, “Manhood,” will be out this month. Lupita Nyong’o Wins Oscar for Best Supporting Actress

Lupita Nyong’o won the Oscar award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role on Sunday night for her role as Patsey, a favored but abused slave in Steve McQueen‘s “12 Years a Slave.” Nyong’o beat out several high-profile actresses such as Julia Roberts of “August: Osage County,” Sally Hawkins of “Blue Jasmine,” June Squibb of “Nebraska,” and Jennifer Lawrence of “American Hustle.” It was the first nomination for the Mexico City-born, Kenyan-raised actress. Nyong’o was three weeks shy of graduating from the Yale School of Drama when she was cast by McQueen in her breakout role. Nyong’o also won in the same category at this year’s SAG Awards. She thanked McQueen “for taking a flashlight and shining it underneath the floorboards of this nation and reminding us what it is we stand on.” For a full list of winners, visit the Academy’s official website.
